More growth for Rejected!!

I got the word today that Kangaroo Kids in St Thomas, Ontario has picked up Rejectedkids line to sell in their store!!
Also, looking into registration to present Rejected in Lambeth at the Vendor/Crafter show at the Lambeth Legion open house, on August 20th. Also, I received an email from Matthew Flagler, Canadian Haunted Attractions, Halloween, Horror & Paranormal Conference, who seems very interested in having Rejected at their conference in Hamilton, Ontario in April 2012.  I know that seems so far off, but really, with how busy Rejected designer is becoming, it probably feels like it's just around the corner!!

Keep checking in for any and all confirmations of any events!!

Keeping busy!!

I have been positively bursting with ideas and plans for Rejected this week!!  Today, I got the ok to plan an online Rejected merchandise sale, which I have to admit I am most excited to be the first customer for!    I will be uploading pictures and prices to this blog, as well as the Facebook page asap. Also, possibly a "clearance" section on Etsy??

Also, I was able to confirm a review of Rejected on http://www.inrandom.com/ in the near future, which is amazing. Inrandom is an amazing blog and has an incredible fan base, and Rejected is so pleased to be featured on it!! It will be great to increase the clothing lines reputation into the Unites States as well, though Inrandom does have many wonderful Canadian fans (myself included) as well!!  <3

Soon, I will be able to write about the Fall line as well, as the catalouge shoot is scheduled for next month!!

Lots of excitement as Rejected begins to grow and expand!!  :)

WOW!!

In just 24 hours,  the Rejected fan page on Facebook gained 11 new members!  This is thanks to http://www.etsy.com/people/rudeandreckless and their wonderful fan base showing their support.  I definetly hope to see a collaboration between Rude&Reckless and Rejected in the works soon, I think it would be amazing!!
Also up soon is a possible review by Amanda at http://www.inrandom.com/ .
So excited for all the growth Rejected is seeing and flattered as ever to be a part of it all!!

Anxiously awaiting what's to come!!

Since the next season of Rejected is still in the beginning stages, I currently don't have much to write about!  I know that I can't wait to see whats next!!  I was lucky enough to get to see some initial sketches of the new line and it's looking as adorable as ever!!  I am really excited to see the peices come together and be ready to display/sell!!
Still working on expanding the Facebook fan page. We were at 23 fans so I decided to hold a giveaway/contest to get us up to 45 fans. Although it took longer then anticipated, we made it and I gave away a free Rejected t-shirt to the fan with the most referals to our page. Although we have lost a fan since (It happens) I am eager to think up new ways to get people to our page to see the clothing line.  I've been trying to encourage more fan photos, to show Rejected in an everyday/night way, to showcase how fun, flirty and actually wearable this line is!!
And, just maybe, there is another contest in the works.....wait and see!!

Project Zombie Runway - Behind the scenes

Firstly I have to say a great big thank you to EVERYONE involved in last nights show.   It was so much fun to be a part of it, on many different levels, and I personally think everyone did an amazing job!!
So, When I arrived at Down Town Kathy Browns, it was just after 3pm, and work was already going strong to get everything ready for the night.  They were building the stage/runway, stringing up chains along the sides (thank god, cause walking it later, those helped me, and probably a few other models, from falling flat on our beautiful zombied faces!).

The tables all around the bar had been decorated with white table cloths, splattered with red droplets and hand prints, and each table had a horror-themed center peice, (which I regret not getting a picture of :( ) and Rejected coasters, featuring pictures from a horror shoot we'd done a few months back.

(The designs on these coasters are also available silk-screened on to tanks, t-shirts, and hoodies from Rejected!)

I had arrived with my friend Chris who I had talked (actually, with very little difficulty) into coming out to be one of the male models for the night. We did a few introductions and headed to the back of the building where they has set up all the racks of the clothing for the runway, and where they had originally planned to have the models get ready for the show.
However....

(These two pictures sum it up nicely)

IT WAS FREAKING HOT!!!!
You are probably saying, Robyn, it's summer! Yes, I know that it is summer but this room was sauna hot. Being located at the back of the club, with no air conditioning, and, I was told later, directly above a very busy kitchen for The Honest Lawyer, the resturant under neath the club, made it so much hotter then you would even think.  But, as always, Rejected has some amazing models who go through anything to get the job done right! :)
More and more models and designers continued to arrive for the next little bit,

and then it was into the chair for some latex, to make up our sores, scars, and assorted extras of being a zombie.

And from there, more makeup, to make us look dead...or, un-dead, should I say??

There was another floor above the one we were on, so they set up the girls doing our hair up there, believe it or not, it was still 1,000 times cooler up there then in the dreaded back room (which I think everyone was trying to avoid at this point).

So, what do you get after alllllll this??  Some pretty sexy, zombie models, ready to walk the runway for Rejected, as well as the other designers there for the night, CryWolf, ScapeGoat, Dilly Daisy, and Jody Lee Miller Designs!!

We were really lucky to have some great designers doing the show with us, and Rejected, as always, was glad to share models with everyone who needed them.  I personally can't wait to see the runway pictures, by the always FAB Cory Walker.

Unfortunetly, being a part of the show, I wasn't able to watch much, or get pictures of the runway, or any of the other great acts that were putting on the show with us.  I hope, to see them on Facebook soon (doesn't everything get on there eventually?) and then everyone else can too. It was a well thought out, and put together group of people, and art forms, from artists, actors, musicians and even a magician!!  <3
By the end of the night, as everyone was starting to wear down a little, faces peeling, still hot and sweaty from that evil back room (I nicknamed the door to the room the Gates of Hell, though I don't think the reference was funny to anybody but myself!!), The Rejected team was always upbeat, positive, and ready for more!!
I know I feel so lucky to be a small part of this team!

Thanks again everyone, for the great night!!

YAY!!

Today's the day!  Everyone involved is excited, and nervous about pulling off this fashion show!  I think, especially given the location, (you really can't be anymore in the heart of the downtown core) it is going to be no less then amazing.
Plus, all proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club....I guess zombies do have hearts!  :)

Also exciting, for me anyways, is that I am running my first contest/giveaway on Rejected's fan page on Facebook.  When I started it, we were at 22 fans. With a contest of inviting and refering friends to the page, I hope to reach the goal of 45 soon.  So far, it's off to a bit of a slow start, but other then me, do THAT many people check their facebook every day??  LOL  If all goes well, I hope I can get the word out and really see this fun, flirty clothing line take off.

I hope to see everyone out tonight!!

Almost Zombie time!!

I am actually ridiculously excited about tomorrows show at Down Town Kathy Browns!!  Not only do I get to be in it, so I get to be all zombie-fied, but I get to blog about it and hopefully get some cool behind the scenes information and pictures that not all bloggers would get to share!!

Project Zombie Runway @ Downtown Kathy Browns

This Thursday hot, sexy  zombie's will be taking over Downtown Kathy Browns, in London, Ontario!!

Doors open at 6pm, and admission is $5, with all proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club!
All ages show, so everyone, come on out!!

Rejected, now in blog form

Hi Everyone!!  This is Robyn, and I am so excited to be starting a blog for Megan Philbin's clothing line, Rejected.

As her business has grown over the years, it has taken on a life of its own and I am flattered to be able to be a part of it both administrating a fan page on facebook https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Rejected-Clothing/168864749843056 , and upkeep on the already popular Etsy page!!

I also get to join with all the action of fashion shows, new season updates for the line (Spring 2012 is coming along quite nicely ;) and behind the scenes photoshoots!!  I can't wait to be able to write about it all!!

Coming up first is Project Zombie Runway, here in London, Ontario at popular Downtown Kathy Brown's, this Thursday, July 14th. Doors open at 6 pm!  More info in my next entry!!
